A Community Development Forum is one of the outcomes of the project activities at Itamapako. It is composed of elected community leaders of Abidagba, Ereji, Iloti, Iwasi and Iroto. It is a mechanism to further women participation in decision making, as well as to ensure future sustainability of the project. For instance, a series of project-development meetings were held with the CDF ensured that community plans were being adhered to. Depending on the base-line information gathered at the initial stages of the project from the communities, concerning their needs and their expectations, women leaders amongst them mobilised other women to plan for their communities. On prioritising their needs, women outlined what they would urgently like developed in their communities.
The CDF not only received and endorsed the plans from the women, but it went further to work with the women group to execute two of the plans prioritised by women. The project development meetings thus, were useful for this purpose, and for setting stage for future developments in the communities.
